The sky, it's beautiful, a bright blue, so mesmerising, the mountains cover the sparkling water with shade. The blazing light casting sweat upon my face, I wipe it away, cooling myself. There are boats floating upon the calm waters and emerald trees covering hot people from the scorching sun. The horizon creates a line between the sky and the ground, it takes remarkable effect on my eyes.
I had journeyed here, to this beautiful sight from the heart of Aotearoa, Wellington. I had never been out of New Zealand so it was a new experience. I travelled here for work i'm a builder and I was sent to help with the new cathedral getting built, it's going to be so fun. It's being built just outside of the city centre so it's not in the way of the other building's around.
I was to leave the hotel at 6:55 in the morning tomorrow and meet the fellow builder's on site. It was the next day and I was getting ready to travel to the new building site, it was a 50 minute drive but I bet I could do it in 40 minutes. Finally i'm here and I've meet Dave one of the constructors hes told me to go to the basement and start on the plastering, I start to go down the stairs. As soon as I make it the final stair I see a man lying and the floor almost looks unconscious, I go over to check him out, he has no pulse, I roll him over and 2 stab wounds appear I worry run up the stairs and tell everyone around, I try to find Dave but he's not here.
The police have arrived and they have cordoned off the area, we had been asked to leave to our home's. I was curious on where Dave had disappeared to so I went to his house, we where given a list of employees addresses encase of emergency, I guess this was an emergency if Dave had vanished. I drove to Dave's house it was a small country flat, not very big but convenient for one person. I knocked on the door there was no answer for 20 minutes so I went round the back, there was an open curtain, suddenly Dave appears behind me and throws me to the ground I pass out and wake inside somewhere, I don't think this is going to end well...
This was a place I shared my learning up to December 2021.From 2022 onwards I used a different blog platform.

Cookies.
Today we made cookies, they contained many ingredients including butter, sugar, condensed milk, flour, baking powder and compound chocolate. We made 12 cookies with the ingredients provided, at first we had measured the flour wrong after we had tested the mixture we noticed it was too runny so we added the extra flour and cooked them they turned out crispy on the outside but soft on the inside it was really nice. We sucked at making these but we got help so it was all good. I rate a 8/10.

What Country Would I Go To And Why?
Where would you travel if it was $1.00 and if you had one opportunity would you travel at all
I would go to Russia, more specifically Moscow because Vladimir Putin lives there. Vladimir Putin is the president of Russia, Russia also loves hard bass, The band Animal Jazz is from Russia and they make hard bass too. Here's a funny video... Link. Just the casual shopping time on a Tuesday morning. Russia is also home to the most toxic and radiated lake in the world it is named Lake Karachay, the lake is red because of the radioactive pollution, if you stand next to the lake for over 2 minutes you will probably die, they recently covered most of it in concrete but its still VERY toxic like Jarvis. Russia is also home to many dangerous animals including wolfs, bears, tigers, venomous snakes, boars and lynxes. It is also a communist nation, yay!

Hello Miss Birtch
Hola mi nombre es Kody, I am a 12 year old student in 7/8 Al. Period 5 on Wednesday's I now have "Learning with Mrs Birtch", Mrs Birtch is not very familiar with our class as she is with her own so this is a little bit of what I do, what I love and things about me in general. My friends names are Callum, Evan, Rican, Josh, TJ, Jayden and many more. My favourite hobby is either Rugby League or Gaming. I've played league for the Riccarton Knights for nearly 3 years now it's very fun to be in a environment with people that have the same hobbies. I've made the Canterbury trials once but failing to make it through to the actual playing for Canterbury. I also like gaming as I said before my favourite games are Call of Duty Black Ops 1 through 4, Fortnite, Minecraft, Krunker and Far Cry 3 through 5 in my opinion there all very great games with awesome graphics and backstory. I know that you like reading so I thought I would share my favourite author and books. My favourite author is Andy Mulligan the creator of Trash and other books. Trash was turned into a movie in 2015 i'm yet to watch it but am willing to watch it in the future. My favourite book series are The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey I find them funny and easy to read.

The main character of the book is a girl named Viola. Viola was named after
her mum’s favorite instrument. Viola has XP it’s a genetic disorder that
makes the body unable to repair damage (DNA Damage, Skin Damage) from
UV and it creates small growths that can turn out to be cancers and
mutations. Viola is a sweet but insecure girl that stays inside all day and
goes out at night. Her family consists of 3 people her, her dad and her mum
they live out in the pine forest by themselves with the closest city an hour
away. Viola’s mum is a musician and Viola’s dad is a farmer. They struggle to
keep up with money until Viola witnesses something that changes her life.
Viola has just watched a murder scene and has follow the man who has done
the crime, It's lucky she does follow him beacuase what she see’s him do
next is life changing.

The book itself is compellingly enjoyable and is great for people around the
11 - 17 mark. I found it is very pleasant to read during cold winter day when
you can't go outside and want to stay warm.

I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5 because the ending wasn't as thrilling as
I thought it would be but the rest of the book was really hooking and i was
drawn to reading the book and i really enjoyed it.

Science (The Water Cycle)
AIM: TO LOOK AT THE WATER CYCLE AND HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS AFFECTING IT.
Definition:
Scientific words:
- Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
- Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
- Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
- Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
- Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.
We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.
THE WATER CYCLE EXPERIMENT
Bag 1: Normal Water cycle
Bag 2: Water cycle with CO2 added: like Oceans in climate change
Bag 3: Water cycle with ice added: like Antarctica in climate change
Material:
- Plastic Bag
- Vivid Marker
- 1 Cup Of Water
- 2 Drops Of Food Colouring
Steps:
- Draw Clouds, Rain, Island, Trees And Sun
- Add The Scientific Names Of The Steps In The Water Cycle
- Add Water And Food Colouring Together (Fill 2/10 Of The Bag)
- Leave On A Wall (Tape On) And Dont Touch It For A Week
- Watch The Condensation Grow Slowly Check Every Week (Make Sure You Dont Touch The Bag)
Findings:

Charlesworth Reserve Trip (C.I.P)
Yesterday we went on a trip to Charlesworth Reserve to plant some native plants and shrubs.
We started by digging holes for plants to go into and we used the techniques we were tought like how to get the roots out without damaging them and how to put the plants in perfectly.
We found crabs and snails while digging up the clay and sand.

DTE
For the past few weeks we have been making games revolving around community issues of choice, Callum (Callum's Blog) and I made a game together because i didn't have a Chromebook for some time as i am writing this i now do. We made a game were you had to vs the pests in an arena and the pest were trying to take over New Zealand and we had to get rid of them there were diffrent doors to unlock with hidden and not so hidden keys, there is also spots that you can get into called Secret Areas. I helped callum on his computer do some coding, traps, ideas for battles, boss battle glitch fixing (bug repair) and backdrop ideas. here are some pictures of the character and game.
<- Game |
| Character ->
The game isn't finished yet but we tried really hard to get it done.
Reflection:
What i found hardest was to stay on task and keep on track.
I could change that by keeping more control of myself and working well with the people around me.
I used the website Gamefroot (Click To Go To Website

Science - Chromatography
Chromatography is a laboratory technique for the separation of a mixture. The mixture is dissolved in a fluid called the mobile phase, which carries it through a structure holding another material called the stationary phase. The various constituents of the mixture travel at different speeds, causing them to separate.

P.E Week 1
Today we learnt about Multi-Sports and how to trap a ball in football it was not that fun for me because i knew how to trap and I don't like multi-sports. Basically multi-sports is a mix off sports and there's 2 teams. The teams must be divided fairly and they go to opposite sides of a gym the teacher calls out a sport and a number. The number means number of people on each side to go and play the sport given they play then the next number of people repeat and so on and obviously we learnt how to trap a ball. :)

What crystals worked out best and why?
The saturated sugar mixture has worked out poorly, there was not any trace of crystallization in the cup or around the pipe cleaner that we've used. The most probable reason that we can think of why it hasn't worked is that our mixture has not been saturated enough. We concluded that because our mixture was still very much liquid and not almost as thick as syrup.
However, the salt and borax mixture worked out like magic. They were the best results that we've had in this experiment. Though there were more crystals in the borax mixture; the container in which we had the salt mixture had more crystals in and around the inside of it. it was quite thin but at the least, it was very much visible when looked upon closely.
The experiment was a success except for the sugar mixture that we did, which we figured was not as saturated as the salt and borax mixture.
